An interesting article, scientifically trying to explain the famous jesus walking on water phenomenon.
JESUS WALKING BBC LINK Anyway,With regards to the previous post, i shall refrain from getting into a religious vs scentific, philosophical debate. HOWEVER, i am putting forth my opinion - i would rather leave the choice of lifestyle to a personal choice. Dictations by society or by god is, to me, a way at which humans try to find the 'right path' in life. Enlightenment, salvation, nirvana, whichever u call it - they are all the same.
What's right and what's wrong in the eye's of the society changes overtime. What's right and what's wrong in the bible (catholic, jewish, christian bibles.. koran...any religious text) also depends on human's interpretation at that point of time in the particular society.
These views evolve. IN essence, i would prefer to be less harsh on what is defined as right or wrong when it comes to grey areas. I rather, let people discover and grow the way they feel most right and the most comfortable.
I am probably gona get blasted with questions such what if one feels right to kill others, blah blah. YES YES, arent these too extreme, black and white cases?
DONT get me wrong. I believe in GOD. Which religion is the more appropriate question. I rather believe that THIS GOD, has placed us on this earth, to discover the joy of living, the joy of being together, socialising, communicating, touching, holding, kissing and living with each other. ^_^
GOD must have given rules for us to live, to follow. I choose to think that his guidelines are meant to allow us to reach our fullest capabilities to LEARN AND to LOVE. We are definitely imperfect, thatz why we ignore his 'advices', have egos, wars, jealousy, awful feelings, that may induce us to do 'bad' things. Others get influenced and brainwashed and rewired to defining what is 'RIGHT'. ALL THESE make us human. We just face the consequences in the end, and we learn. Sometimes, some of us never learn the truth, in this lifetime. Sometimes, some of us die thinking we are right. Then again, how do we define the word
'RIGHT'? How do we define the word
'WRONG'?
HERE IS A DEFINITION OF SIN from wikipedia"Sin has been a term most usually used in a religious context, and today describes
any lack of conformity to the will of God; especially, any willful disregard for the norms revealed by God is a sin.
Why are we so quick to judge what is considered to be a SIN? WHY are we soo certain that our interpretations of religious texts are so correct? so rigid?
I am sure there are so many misinterpretations that we have made and is making GOD sad, seeing how some of us suffer because of a society's misinterpretation of his words. I am sure life was meant to be more simple, to follow your heart, your desires and your instincts.
