ice-fishing

A beauty picturesque view...

The hole where we fish from. This is actually a makeshift cabin on top of an ice lake, n the people dug holes through the ics for us, so that we can try n fish...

fishing from 10-6 is not exactly what we have in mind... (nitendo... haaa)

finally trying to concentrate on fishing...

out of the WHOLE trip, we caught only 3 fishes.... and i am one of the lucky fishers!!!!!!

See!! i have patience!!
its interesting.. but geez.. i dont think its that fantastic waiting for a fish to be baited.. The fishes were smart. they kept stealing my bait without me realising that they are on the hook.

*victory!*

Chinese new year

Ok, so my dog year is almost gone, and the new year is approaching. There has been lotsof questions with regards to the chinese lunar calander, its history and its signifiance. Sadly, i have to say my knowledge is quite limited.

From wikipedia, they gave quite an amount of information on chinese new year celebrations. Starting from its name, its myths and origins.

Although its festivities for most of us dominate around the red packets we get, and the tremendous amount of food, there are much more to it beneath.

Days b4 the new yr:
One is suppose to do "spring cleaning" to rid one of all bad luck for the coming new year.
Some people decorate their window panes/doors with auspicious chinese phrases and red paint.
1st day of new yr:
no one is suppose to clean the house.
Reunion dinner happens on the new yr's eve. As many family members as possible will join in this huge fest. Significant dishes include fish & chicken. Fish represent surpluses for the yr. (u are not suppose to finish your food...) There are many other dishes that signify different things, go read it up yourself. HEE

3rd & 4th day

5th day

Skating in Canal Rideau

Last sunday, we went ice-skating.

The longest ice-skating rig is finally open. Its length is about 7 km, ending at a frozen lake. It was a nice sunny day, enough warmth to make everyone happy. Poor iman thou, he was really concentrating hard *kiss my darling . He must have been the most tired among us all.

Other bring babies for a nice ride...
Others try not to fall...Cleaners continue to smoothen the ice out for us.
Whatz that!

There is also an ice-sculpture exhibition, nothing very new. Ice is always pretty.
If they were one dollar or two dollar coins, i am sure to steal them..Signing off..
