Yesterday, we went to watch this movie. In french subtitles. haa. Thank god i knew chinese. (actually, thatz the reason i agreed to go to a french subtitled one...) Aside, the movie was very grand, elaborate decorations, costumes, A-listed actors & actresses. Geez, i thought the girls' boobs will pop out of the extremely low cut dresses at anytime.
WHEN did asians have a reputation of huge *ahem*?

Anyway, this movie was SUPER melodramatic, making it almost laughable at times. Overall, i still think it is a worthwhile movie to watch thou. Even is ones doesnt know anything about asian films, for the mere fact that it is a 40 million US dollar production, its is worth a second glance.

Btw, Jay Chou was really cute in the movie, naturally. My favorite singer & now, actor. Damn, he is only 3 yrs older than i am but he has achieved so much. One day....

Locusts = desert shrimps!!

Desert locusts = food? = YUCK!!!

Adapted from bbc, they reported that in the north-eastern Borno State of Nigeria’s, these desert locust are now fried in vegetable oil+chili+salt+pepper to be eaten. Their nick name --> DESERT SHRIMPS.. argh. Apparently, these insects does taste like shrimps and some even go as far to specify that the hind legs are the tastiest part. ARGH. As u guys know, locusts are known to destroy hectares of crops when they descend. I guess, man has found a way to get their revenge...

Depression huh? Just don't feel that great. My morale has been pretty low recently. Guess my inability to understand Caroline & the rest when they converse in French has started bugging me more & more. She commented that we haven't been hanging out that much. The truth is, seeing them reminds me of my inadequacy. Shouldn't let that be the reason. I know what i am suppose to do. Just finding it hard to kick start french again. I should. Setbacks shouldn't affect me that much. Mopping around doesn't do anyone good.

sO.. HERE I AM, INSTEAD OF WORKING AS HARD AS I SHOULD BE, I AM OFFICIALLY STUCK ONTO AN ANIMATION SERIES - NARUTO. TO BE HONEST, IT HAS A VERY SIMPLE PLOT, ABOUT THE GROWTH OF A PARTICULAR NINJA (OBVIOUSLY CALLED NARUTO). NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT ITS GRAPHICS, NOR ITS LINES. JUST OLD FASHIONED GOOD OLD JAPANESE SILLY COMEDYISH ANIMATION. HOWEVER, IN ALL THESE ANIMATIONS, EACH SHORT STORY USUALLY CARRIES A HIDDEN MESSAGE, A LESSON/VALUE THAT IT TRYS TO CONVEY TO THEIR AUDIENCE. THATZ WHAT MAKES IT NICE I GUESS. IT ADDS TO THE FLAVOUR THAT IT IS DONE WITH JAPAN'S OWN BRAND OF HUMOUR.
I CAN SEE WHY MANY DON'T SEE IT THAT WAY THOU. THE ENGLISH DUBBED VIDEOS SPOIL EVERYTHING. I CAN ALMOST SAY IT IS LOST IN TRANSLATION.... NOT THAT I UNDERSTAND JAPANESE, BUT THE ORIGINAL VOICE + ENG SUBTITLES LEAVES A VERY DIFFERENT IMPRESSION COMPARED TO THAT OF DUBBED ONES. IT IS AS IF THE ENGLISH DUBBED TAPES MAKES THE CHARACTERS IN THE ANIMATION STUPID. I HONESTLY BELIEVE IT IS THE VOICE THAT IS WRONG...
